Dog Dies In Friday Morning Silver Lake House Fire
SILVER LAKE — A dog has died after a house fire southeast of Silver Lake on Friday morning. At 4:59 a.m. Friday, July 5, Silver Lake Fire Department received a report of a fully engulfed house fire at 2238 W. 1200S. Claypool and Sidney-Jackson Township Fire Departments responded with full assists.
Mentone Council Hears From Residents About Viking Drive, Jackson Street Connection Suggestion
MENTONE – Mentone Town Council heard from several residents about a prior suggestion from a property owner about connecting Viking Drive and Jackson Street Wednesday. In May, Kelley Doering approached the council and said she and her husband purchased the three lots behind the Dollar General. She said there is a lot of traffic running through her property and finding its way to the Dollar General. It looks like the path is being used by mostly golf cart and bike traffic, she said. One of the suggestions Doering presented to the council was to see if the council could attach Viking Drive and Jackson Street.
