South Bend awards $15.2 million bid for 20,000-square-foot addition to Morris theater
SOUTH BEND — The city on Wednesday officially awarded a $15.2 million bid for construction of a 20,000-square-foot addition to the Morris Performing Arts Center. LaPorte-based Larson-Danielson Construction Company will soon begin roughly a year and a half of work on the Raclin Murphy Encore Center, a new building between the Morris and the LaSalle Hotel that will serve as additional lobby space and a hub for local arts programming. South Bend's Board of Public Works unanimously approved the contract Wednesday.

Decreasing clouds, showers this evening just in time for fireworks
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - It was an uncharacteristically gloomy 4th with occasional showers/drizzle. This, paired with sky-high humidity and highs near 80º made it feel positively tropical! While that part of the forecast won’t be changing much tonight for the many fireworks displays in store, showers and cloud coverage will decrease as the evening progresses. Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio will be free from any relentless rain or wind after sunset, even if an isolated shower/pop up can’t be completely ruled out due to the aforementioned humid conditions.
Moving Pictures Receives Facade Grant From Main Street Warsaw
Moving Pictures Tattoo Cinema, 112 E. Center St., Warsaw, was presented with a $9,832.69 facade grant Tuesday from Main Street Warsaw to be used for improvements. Nathan Underneath, owner of Moving Pictures Tattoo Cinema, said the windows and front door were replaced. Moving Pictures also did a new building sign. They took out the overhead wood paneling and did a restructuring of inside of the overhang. All new wiring and LED lighting was put into the overhang.
