Summit County is considering changing leash laws for dogs in unincorporated Summit County due to an increase in people not following the current laws. Unlike in towns like Breckenridge, Silverthorne, Dillon, and Frisco, you do not need to have your dog on a leash in unincorporated parts of Summit County so long as it responds to voice controls and stays within 10 feet of you.Summit County Animal Shelter and Animal Control's Director J.J. Volunteers are being sought to help rehabilitate a historic structure where the railroad once crossed through the Colorado Rocky Mountains at Boreas Pass. HistoriCorps, the Pike-San Isabel National Forests and the Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands are seeking volunteers of all skill levels to help rehabilitate the Boreas Pass Section House, according to a news release. Boreas Pass is about 30 minutes from Breckenridge.
