    Sharp Fire contained in Simi Valley, evacuation orders lifted

    The brush fire that injured a firefighter in Simi Valley is now contained, according to authorities .

    The Sharp Fire was at 60% containment and was held to 160 acres as of 8:52 a.m. The Ventura County Fire Department said the remaining hot spots were being identified on Thursday.

    Evacuation orders were given to to Simi Valley residents in about 60 homes on Wednesday but they were allowed to return to their homes by 7:30 p.m., according to police .

    The fire first ignited in the area of Sharp Road and Ditch Road on the north side of the valley at about 1:45 p.m. As many as about 200 firefighters hit the scene, according to the VCFD.

    Sky5 footage showed flames raging on a hill which had homes built at the bottom. Luckily, the flames headed away from the homes. No structures have been reported damaged.

    Officials confirmed to KTLA that one firefighter suffered heat-related injuries and was taken to the hospital in moderate condition.
