Illinois dam fails, residents told to evacuate area
Thunderstorms with heavy rains and tornadoes rattled the Chicago area and elsewhere in the Midwest, overtopping a dam Tuesday in southern Illinois, cutting power to hundreds of thousands, and even sending weather forecasters scrambling for safety. A woman in Indiana died after a tree fell onto a home.
Man Wanted in Recent Home Invasion, Attack in Carrier Mills in Custody
CARRIER MILLS – Police in Carrier Mills say a man suspected to be involved in a recent home invasion and attack on two Carrier Mills residents is now in custody. According to Police Chief Scott Isaacs, Carrier Mills Police and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office participated in a joint detail which led to the arrest of 24-year-old Tyrese D. Isbell of Carrier Mills.

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A man faces assault and other charges after sheriff’s deputies say he stabbed his mother in McCracken County. John Taber, 21, of Paducah faces charges of assault 2nd domestic violence, two counts of menacing, wanton endangerment 1st degree (police officer), resisting arrest and disorderly conduct 2nd degree.
