JEFFERSON, S.D (KCAU) — The annual Jefferson Days of ’59 Founders Festival is back for another summer of fun events.
The events celebrate the history of Jefferson with food, drinks, classic small-town fun, and a wide range of activities for all ages.
The four-day event starts on Thursday, July 11 with Kai Thai Food Truck and rock painting at Jefferson Beer Supply, a 21+ kickball game in Tower Park, and Mixtape Bingo at Bud’s Bar.
On Friday, July 12 there will be a community pork feed in Tower Park starting at 6 p.m. Donations are being accepted. There will also be kids’ activities, clowns, live original music by Ben Hanson, and Fireworks. Following the fireworks, there will be a Smash Food Trailer at Jefferson Beer Supply and DJ and karaoke at Bud’s Bar.
Sioux City Public Library offers summer reading events On Saturday, July 13, There will be a Sue Lulf Memorial Walk/Run and a pancake breakfast at St. Peter’s Community Center. There will be a parade at noon featuring the SUFUDU Marching Band, followed by various festival activities including a vendor’s Fair, Smile Contest, Poker Run, Carnival games, and DayTOADa 500- the longest toad race in South Dakota.
There will also be a new event on Saturday called Get Sauced Food Battle from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Four delicious food vendors will be creating a featured menu item with a sauce made from Jerfferson’s Beer Supply.
Then on Sunday, July 14, there will be Yoga in the city park with brunch following at Jefferson Beer Supply. A car show in the afternoon with Sioux Falls-based food truck serving food from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
