The event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sioux City Convention Center.

Activities will include a parade of African nations, an exhibition of African artifacts, serving various African cuisines, drumming and dancing, a fashion parade, African trivia, hair braiding, bouncy houses, and many more.

“This event is a celebration of all Africans, embracing their religious, geographical, and ethnic diversity,” says Annie Kinwa-Muzinga, vice president of the Siouxland African Association. “We also aim to educate and foster partnerships with our non-African community members, building a stronger, more connected community.”
