SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The second round of Professional Fighter’s League tournament is taking place at the Sanford Pentagon and a South Dakota native returns home to take part in the event.

Prior to fighting for the PFL, Logan Storley was a Bellator fighter for six years flowing through a more sporadic schedule. Now with the PFL, he says his work life is more manageable.

“It’s definitely different going back-to-back-to-back, that is different. It’s nice because you know your schedule, you know what your life looks like when camp starts, where you’re supposed to be. So that is nice,” PFL fighter Logan Storley said.

Originally, Storley was expected to face Laureano Staropoli, but he withdrew for a reason unknown to the public and was replaced by Luca Poclit. Now, the 15-3 welterweight class record holder is ready to step in the ring.

“He’s a tough opponent, he’s got good grappling, he’s got good chokes, and I know he’s dangerous in position. So I’m well prepared and I know I have to be at the top of my game and be ready,” Storley said.

The PFL playoffs are on the mind of the 31-year-old, even though the odds are not in his favor, with an opponent change and suffering the loss of his first match in the tournament.

“It is important to go get those points and come away with a finish. Obviously, you have to go in there and do your job first and get a W, but for me, obviously you want to be part of the playoffs. So that’s the goal,” the Webster native said.

The Webster native now returns to his home state, where the support has continued to grow.

“When I was young and had my first fight here was maybe a little overwhelming, not overwhelming, but, I got to win three state titles in this arena right now that we’re standing in. You kind of get used to performing in front of a lot of people and expectations. And the older you get, I think the more you realize that these people are supporting,” Storley said.
