SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Sioux Falls East is one of the eight team in the Class ‘A’ Legion baseball state tournament field.

Post 15 swept Harrisburg Maroon this week. After winning 7-4 on Thursday, East claimed a dominant 11-0 shutout win Friday in the KELOLAND Livestream Game of the Week.

Leading just 1-0 after three innings, Sioux Falls plated six runs in the fourth and tacked on another four in the sixth to punch their ticket to state.

“Start a little slow again, and then got going again, got a big inning, and then we got another big inning. We’ve just really been putting it together, hits together. It’s really been good,” Sioux Falls East first baseman Sawyer Mindt said.

“These guys have been going at it since November in the offseason workouts. It’s just a great feeling to be going back to state, giving ourselves a chance to win a state championship,” Sioux Falls East Coach Dan Hughes said.
