MARQUETTE, Mich. – UP Health System – Marquette (UPHS – Marquette) has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke SilverPlus quality achievement award for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability. 127th Air Refueling Group temporarily relocates to Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport
K.I. SAWYER, Mich. (WLUC) - You might see increased activity at Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport. That’s because the 127th Wing is in the area. That team is based out of Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Lower Michigan’s Harrison Township. The team is in town as runway repairs are being performed at Selfridge. The airport will serve as the base for four KC-135 Stratotankers, with two other aircraft functioning as transient shuttles.

How rare this week's U.P. tornado warning actually was
As severe thunderstorms raced across much of the Midwest Monday evening, places near Chicago and Indianapolis got hit the hardest. However, areas as far north as Michigan’s Upper Peninsula still got in on the action. In fact, a tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Marquette. NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WLUC) - The results are in for the City of Negaunee’s Senior Housing Listening Sessions and Senior Housing Survey. A Marquette County housing specialist poured over the data with staff from the Negaunee Senior Center. They found seniors hope to live close to parks and community resources to increase their social interaction opportunities.
