Kam Jones - Easily the best returning player from last season. This is Kam's team next year. In his junior season he averaged 17 ppg, 2.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and shot 50% from the field. He should be a Preseason All-American. Kam will need to continue his great scoring for Marquette to be successful next year. Kam continues to work on his defensive game and has gotten much stronger since last season. Kam will need to step up big next year if Marquette wants to compete and win games.

Marquette unveils parks and rec master plan
Marquette, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Marquette Department of Parks and Recreation held an open house today to share with the public the department’s five year master plan. This public forum allows residents to see current and future projects that will be included in the plan, as well as ask questions and provide their input. The master plan includes the rebuilding of the Presque Isle bandshell, optimizing use of the city’s ball fields, Lake Shore trail maintenance, improvements to Lakeview arena, a year round dog park and upgrades to several city parks among other projects. Community Services Director John Swenson says that maintaining the current facilities is job one.

Military aircraft relocating to Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport
MARQUETTE, MI— Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport is serving as a base for military aircraft through the summer and early fall. The 127th Wing out of Selfridge Air National Guard Base in downstate Harrison Township will conduct flight operations and maintenance on four KC-135 Stratotankers. The airport will be the base for the Stratotankers, with two other aircraft functioning as transient shuttles.
