Tourist Park swimming beach reopens Friday ahead of Hiawatha Music Festival
MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Tourist Park in Marquette reopened its beach for swimming Friday morning. The City of Marquette closed the beach Thursday because of elevated levels of bacteria, specifically E. coli, following recent heavy rainfall. The city collected water samples Thursday, however, which showed that bacteria levels had returned to safe levels.
