Public Safety a Top Priority for All of Savannah- Chatham County
Public Safety is among the top issues in community surveys across the nation. The Savannah-Chatham County, GA area is no different. Recent and varied incidents of crime have raised the level of concern for many local citizens. On May 30th, the Chatham County Commission hosted representatives of all the county’s municipal- ities at the groundbreaking of the new, 83,000 square-foot Multi-Agency Public Safety Building, located at 654 Gulfstream Road. Afterwards, 5th District Chatham County Commissioner Tanya Milton decided to move forward with her idea of hosting an opportunity to share information and generate discussion on public safety issues and concerns. As a member of the Hungry Club Forum of Savannah, Inc. (HCFS), she broached the idea of co-sponsoring one of the organization’s monthly Signature Roundtables and Open Forums toward this end.
