Orange County to Purchase Maple Avenue Building
CHESTER – On Monday, July 9, Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus officially signed the resolution, entering into an agreement to purchase the Maple Avenue Building located in the Village of Chester. The future of the building has been under consideration for some time, including a failed referendum in 2019 until on July 2nd, the Orange County Legislature moved the process of acquiring ownership along with a unanimous vote.
District Attorney Hoovler Announces Jury Trial Conviction in Maybrook Gun Case
Rudolph Davis Convicted of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. Represents 40th Felony Gun Possession Conviction in Orange County in the Last Year. Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced that on Friday, July 12, 2024, Rudolph Davis, age 31, of Newburgh, was convicted after a jury trial in the Orange County Court of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, the sole charge against him. Davis faces up to fifteen (15) years in prison when he is scheduled to be sentenced on October 17, 2024. Davis was remanded back to the Orange County Jail without bail following the jury’s verdict.
Wurtsboro Founders Day Street Fair draws large crowds (VIDEO)
WURTSBORO – The Founders Day Street Fair in Wurtsboro drew thousands of people who came to enjoy the vendors, live music, and fun-filled day in the community. County Officials Comment on Coach USA Route Terminations
PARAMUS, NJ - Coach USA, based locally, has terminated its agreement with NJ Transit, according to county officials, which they say will "prematurely" cut 20 bus routes and will likely impact students and staff commuting to Bergen Community College. OC students to get free admission to Storm King Art Center
Senator James Skoufis (D-42) recently announced that, thanks to a $50,000 grant, Storm King Art Center will allow all Orange County students up to 21 with valid ID free admission through 2024 and 2025. This includes admission to the grounds and access to public and family programming. Storm King Art Center is a 500-acre outdoor museum with large-scale sculptures set against the backdrop of Orange County’s landscape.
