Fireworks may have caused house fire in Smith County, officials say
TYLER, Texas — The Smith County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a house fire southeast of Tyler that resulted in a total loss Thursday night. Firefighters were dispatched to a home in the 16900 block of FM 756 at 11:45 p.m. on July 4. Several occupants were at the residence when the fire occurred, but no one was injured. Fire crews from multiple surrounding jurisdictions responded to the blaze, but the home was completely destroyed.
