UPDATE: City of Spencer looks to restoration and recovery efforts after flooding
SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV) - After heavy flooding, Spencer city officials and first responders look to recovery and restoration. According to the Mayor’s Office, Black Hills Energy technicians are working quickly to safely restore natural gas services to Spencer. Black Hills technicians “will have identification badges, branded hard hats and clothing.”

Two Clarion Residents Injured in Wright County Crash Saturday Night
Two Clarion residents were injured Saturday night in a single-vehicle accident in Wright County. The Iowa State Patrol says just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday, a 2014 Toyota Camry, driven by 19-year-old Yefri Anthony Lopez of Clarion, was traveling northbound on county road R33, west of Clarion, when his vehicle veered off the roadway into the east ditch, rolled, and came to rest on the driver side.
Tree removal to close part of Winnebago Way in Mason City
MASON CITY, Iowa – Winnebago Way is being closed between 4th Street SW and Lakeview Drive for tree removal. The Mason City Operation and Maintenance department says the closure is scheduled to start Monday and will last about two days. Work will be taking place from 7:30 am to 4 pm.

Storm Lake Residents Charged Following Drug-Related Apartment Search
Two Storm Lake residents were arrested on drug-related charges earlier this week, and one of them was wanted on several warrants out of Woodbury County. On Monday evening of this week, Storm Lake Police were attempting to make contact with a wanted individual at 15-hundred North Seneca Street, and detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the apartment. During the execution of a search warrant, police located approximately 40 grams of THC edibles, along with several miscellaneous items and drug paraphernalia used to smoke methamphetamine and marijuana.

SWITA was named the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Regional Transit System of the Year and received the FTA Region 7 Rural Transit Systems Award of Excellence.
