We’re all NIMBYs if the bridge fails
Tom Mooney’s letter (“Beware the NIMBY spin on “straight shot,” June 30, Aspen Daily News) is long on vitriol and short on facts. He utterly fails to recognize the conclusions of the city’s retained engineering experts that the current Castle Creek Bridge is in poor shape; repairs cannot bring it to current safety standards; and it should be replaced.
FAA’s support vital to community
Appreciate the Roger Marolt column (“Feds: Go pack sand under someone else’s airstrip,” ) telling the feds to pound sand. I like and respect Roger; he and he alone is willing to respond to an email reach out and I have enjoyed our discussions. However, I am pleading with the community to stand up for the old Aspen Film tagline, "Independent by Nature."
