CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — The capital city is set to host an annual festival for bookworms this fall, featuring several bestselling authors. The 2024 West Virginia Book Festival has been scheduled for Oct. 19 at the Charleston Coliseum, offering workshops, presentations, vendors and children’s programs, according to a news release from organizers.

Charleston City Council approves expansion of urban hunting to include bears, coyotes
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — Charleston City Council has voted to expand options for urban hunting to include bears and coyotes. The ordinance allows for bears to be hunted with crossbows while coyotes may be hunted with .22 caliber rifles. Council members also expanded times for hunting coyotes to include nighttime hours on private property.
