SOLANO COUNTY, Calif. — Firefighters stopped forward progress on a grass fire in Solano County burning near Travis Air Force Base Tuesday. The Denverton Fire sparked in the area of Denverton and Creed roads near Suisun City Tuesday afternoon, according to the Solano County Office of Emergency Services. The fire burned between Travis Air Force Base and Suisun City, and near Highway 12.

Extreme heat prompts PG&E to shut off power in North Bay
SANTA ROSA, Calif. - The extreme heat pounding the Bay Area prompted PG&E to shut off power early Tuesday morning to parts of the North Bay. The utility, which had warned residents over the weekend that this preventive power shutoff would occur as temperatures soared past 100 degrees, deactivated their power lines in parts of Solano, Napa and Lake counties about 1 a.m.

About 12,000 PG&E customers were told on Sunday to anticipate possibly losing power on Tuesday as the utility monitors weather conditions that could force an intentional shutoff for safety reasons. UPDATE: PG&E says the scope of its planned Public Safety Power Shutoffs has been scaled back, but some 2,000 customers across eight counties had their electricity turned off Tuesday morning. As of 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, the following number of PG&E customers are in the dark: Butte: 314, Colusa: 25, Lake: 174, Napa: 19, Solano: 114, Sonoma: 13, Tehama: 917, and Yolo: 230.
