It's August 2023 and the volleyball net is set up and ready to go. The sharp slaps of spikes and the echoing pops of serves bounce off the gym walls at Solon High School. For many, the start of volleyball season is a fresh start, but for Izzy Frees it was the prelude of a nine-month recovery process. Frees, a setter, leaped for a hit, landed with her left leg locked and heard a pop.
Longtime Hawkeye commit, freshman Callie Levin finally gets to join Iowa roster
IOWA CITY, Iowa — Solon graduate Callie Levin committed to Iowa in August, 2021-before she even started her sophomore year of high school. She grew up just down the road from Iowa City, her father works in the compliance department at the university, and she still has an autographed Samantha Logic basketball from when she was in elementary school.
Iowa's biggest roster weakness in 2024 comes as no surprise
The Iowa Hawkeyes offense has a lot to prove, both to themselves and the nation. Coming into the season, it's a bit unfair that the Hawkeyes are given so much flack for their lack of offensive production in 2023.
