SOMERVILLE, NJ - Sunday's Somerville Market on Main Street featured dozens of vendors selling hand-stitched, hand-carved, hand-knit, hand-woven homemade products, as well as original paintings, jewelry and ceramics.

Those Main Street businesses that chose to remain open benefited from the increased street traffic, with shoppers heading indoors to escape the heat and humidity of another 90-degree day.

Also hosting a display was the Ubuntu Cultural Pavilion, which featured a collection of historic Paul Robeson memorabilia and artifacts. Robeson, who attended Somerville High School, was an All-American football player and valedictorian at Rutgers University. He went on to earn a law degree and became a world-acclaimed actor and activist.

The street fair was sponsored and hosted by the Downtown Somerville Alliance.
