    Thousands without power in Tuolumne County

    TUOLUMNE COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Thousands of customers in the Sonora area of Tuolumne County were left without power on Wednesday morning following an unplanned outage, as reported by PG&E.

    The power outage was reported by the utility around 8:30 a.m. and immediately affected over 4,000 customers.

    The energy provider says they expect to restore power to all customers by 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Residents can receive updates by entering their address online at the virtual PG&E Outage Center .

    The cause of the outage is unknown, but PG&E says they are evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections and make necessary repairs.
