SOPHIA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A couple was arrested after fighting over drinking the last Pepsi.

On July 17, 2024, a Raleigh County Deputy was assigned to respond to a domestic disturbance in Sophia. Upon arrival, the deputy found the complainant on the back porch of the residence. She reported that her daughter, Destiny Smith, had been arguing with her boyfriend, Bradley Allen, who was also on the porch.

The complainant mentioned that she overheard their argument and recalled her daughter yelling for her to call 911.

Destiny Smith then spoke with the deputy while Mr. Allen engaged with other officers nearby. Ms. Smith explained that their dispute was over a Pepsi , during which Mr. Allen allegedly threatened to “punch her in the face.”

She insisted she did not provoke this reaction and was upset because he had consumed the last Pepsi. Ms. Smith added that Mr. Allen had threatened her multiple times before and expressed that she was “done with being threatened.”

The deputy then spoke to Mr. Allen, who confirmed that the argument was indeed about the Pepsi (which the deputy observed he was holding, identified as the last one).

Mr. Allen stated that Ms. Smith had woken up, started yelling, and allegedly spat on him. He denied making any threats during their confrontation but mentioned that if anything he said or did made her feel threatened, he did not intend it that way.

Afterward, the deputy spoke again with the complainant, who clarified that she did not see the altercation but heard it from another room. She noted that she heard what she believed to be Ms. Smith spitting on Mr. Allen, after which he threatened to “punch her in the mouth.”

According to the complainant, both Mr. Allen and Ms. Smith were taken into custody without incident and transported to Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters. They were processed and then moved to SRJ to await arraignment.

Mr. Allen faces a charge of 2nd offense of Domestic Assault due to a previous conviction for Domestic Assault in Norfolk, VA, on or about November 6, 2004.

Ms. Smith is charged with Domestic Battery. The crimes took place in Raleigh County, West Virginia.
