Decorated Winter Holiday “Flash Lights” Buses Return
The county’s Department of Transportation has brought back its “Flash Lights” buses for the winter holiday season. The decorated Flash buses run along Colesville Rd./Columbia Pike (U.S. 29) between the Silver Spring Transit Center, Briggs Chaney, and Burtonsville, making stops along the way. The county-operated Flash Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line, which launched in 2020, runs every 7 to 15 minutes on weekdays, and every 30 minutes on weekends.

Part of Nolte Park Set to Close Monday for ADA Improvements
Part of Nolte Local Park is set to close on Monday for additional ADA improvements, according to Montgomery Parks. The “back parking lot” off of Easley St. will close on Monday, December 4 until the end of January 2024 for the second phase of improvements, following the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). “Hello everyone. I am still buying eggs, produce, milk, bread and beer for purchase. All of my wines are gone. Still have a nice selection of non alcoholic wines for discounted sale. All of my firewood is gone. I have started discounting the craft beers to the lowest you will ever see. So if you want a deal on craft beers, now is the time to stop by. I still do not have a definite day that we will be closing. It All depends now on how fast the craft beers and other items sell out. I will carry fresh produce till the end. Takoma Park Library, Community Center Renovation Update
Takoma Park city officials recently provided an update on the progress of the Library and Community Center renovations. Library renovation construction is gaining momentum, according to officials. The first few trees were removed because of space limitations at the project site. The city is partnering with Treincarnation to evaluate, process, and reclaim the wood from trees, which will then be used to make furniture for the new facilities.
Elrich: Police Drone Tracks Two Auto Break-in Suspects, Leading to Arrest
County Executive Marc Elrich announced in his weekly message that a recently deployed drone helped in making two more arrests in downtown Silver Spring. KFC-Taco Bell Burglary Suspect Sought by Police
Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect captured on surveillance video during a burglary at the KFC-Taco Bell on October 30. Around 9:09 a.m. on October 30, officers from the 3rd District went to the KFC–Taco Bell at the 7700 block of Blair Rd. near downtown Silver Spring after a burglary was reported. According to an MCPD news release, the investigation by detectives revealed that at about 5 a.m., a male adult suspect forcefully opened the restaurant’s drive-through window, reached in, took merchandise, and then left.
