Police: Silver Spring Teen Missing Since October 6
Montgomery County Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 13-year-old Nevaeh Makel, who has been missing since October 6. Makel was last seen Friday, October 6 in the 900 block of Ellsworth Drive in Downtown Silver Spring, according to an MCPD press release. Makel is approximately 5 feet tall, weighs 110 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black and white Nike sweatshirt and Timberland boots.

Fire Pit Brazilian BBQ has been revealed as the first tenant of the Solaire Social food hall in downtown Silver Spring. Washington Post food critic Tim Carman made the announcement in his review published earlier this month, noting that owner Gui Gonzalez’s version of churrasco “aligns better with modern life than those pricey Brazilian steakhouses and their endless parades of all-you-can-eat meat. Ellsworth Place has provided updates regarding the upcoming Commas Food Hall and the status of MOD Pizza. All Set Restaurant & Bar in downtown Silver Spring will offer specials to federal employees and contractors in the event of a government shutdown this weekend. Federal employees and contractors who provide ID will be able to enjoy all-day happy hour at All Set. Happy hour menu items range from $2 oysters on the half shell to $8 house cocktails and $20 fishbowl cocktails. Chef Ed Reavis’s bar bites menu also includes Pulled Pork Sliders topped with pickled zucchini, coleslaw, and North Carolina BBQ sauce, Loaded Sweet Potato Fries topped with cheddar, gruyere, parmesan, and Money Muscle BBQ beef brisket, and Chickpea Fries with avocado lime ranch dipping sauce.
