Doctors Medical Park in Silver Spring Sold to Blue Arch Capital for $15.25 Million
Global commercial real estate broker Avison Young announced the Doctors Medical Park office complex sale earlier this month. Aventura, Fla.-based real estate private equity firm Blue Arch Capital acquired the medical center at 10301 Georgia Ave. for $15.25 million. The property, which spans approximately 98,000 square feet and was built in the 1980s, consists of three buildings with parking lots spread over 4.8 acres and is situated about a mile north of Holy Cross Hospital and the Forest Glen station on Metro’s Red Line.
MCB Real Estate Acquires Takoma Park Shopping Center Anchored by Giant Supermarket
Baltimore-based MCB Real Estate announced this week that it has acquired the Takoma Park Shopping Center. The 51,205-square-foot shopping center at 8750 Arliss St. is fully leased and anchored by Giant, which occupies 45,435 square feet of the property, while Montgomery Beauty School currently utilizes 2,538 square feet and is expanding into an additional 3,000 square feet.

Building in Downtown Silver Spring Housing Third Hill Brewing Co. Listed for $4M Sale
The building currently occupied by Third Hill Brewing Co. in downtown Silver Spring has been placed on the market. Commercial real estate website LoopNet indicates that the building at 8216 Georgia Ave. was listed at the end of May with an asking price of $4 million (PDF); nearly all equipment and fixtures are included in the sale. Commercial realtor Larry Rosen, representing the property owner Ripley Project LLC, manages the listing.
Former Red Lobster in Downtown Silver Spring Now Available for Lease
According to signage posted on Thursday, the former Red Lobster location in Downtown Silver Spring is currently available for lease. The 7,264-square-foot space at 8533 Georgia Ave., next to the upcoming Roaming Rooster, became vacant last month when Red Lobster abruptly closed dozens of locations nationwide. Shortly thereafter, restaurant liquidator TAGeX auctioned off equipment from over 50 closed Red Lobster sites, including the Downtown Silver Spring location, as part of the seafood chain’s “footprint rationalization” strategy.

Montgomery County is currently looking for sponsors, volunteers, and exhibitors for the fourth annual Pride in the Plaza festival.
