Two Tractor-Trailers Crash and Catch Fire in on NJ Turnpike in Monroe Township
MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ (MIDDLESEX)–New Jersey State Police, Sgt. Charles Marchan, told MidJersey.news that Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash at 12:47 a.m. on the New Jersey Turnpike North, milepost 73, Monroe, Middlesex County, Saturday July 20, 2024. Based on a preliminary investigation, two tractor-trailers were traveling north when they were involved in a collision. After the collision, one of the tractors began to catch on fire. No injuries were reported on scene. The crash remains under investigation, and there is no additional information available.

Hazlet: Recreation Facility Concept Plan Includes Grant Funded Amenities for Residents.
HAZLET, NJ: Utilizing grants and low interest rate loans, the governing body in Hazlet has made much needed improvements over the last few years, providing great amenities for its residents. Among them to highlight a couple: The 8th Street Park Improvement Plan that transformed 8th Street Park into a multi-faceted park for all children called Freedom Park. It opened in October 2023. Six Pickleball courts and two Tennis Courts were installed in Veterans Park in July 2023. 5 dogs abandoned in NJ home, in nailed-shut closets with cig burns
IRVINGTON — Five neglected pit bulls were rescued from an abandoned home in the Essex County Township, according to a report by News 12. The Best Friend Dog and Animal Adoption in Cranford was first alerted to two dogs left outside the property on July 3. Upon further investigation, rescuers went into the house and found three other pit bulls in the basement, nailed inside closets with no food and water, said The Best Friend Dog and Animal Adoption president, Lauren Denoma.

Police: Elizabeth woman arrested in Guttenberg for kicking police officer
An Elizabeth woman was arrested in Guttenberg for kicking a police officer after authorities responded to a call of her being an unwanted guest in a home. On Sunday, July 14th, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of 68th Street and Madison Street on a report of an unwanted party in a residence, the department wrote in their police blotter.

The Bayway Community Advisory Panel (CAP) Recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to 14 local students in the municipalities of Linden, Rahway, Elizabeth, and Staten Island, including three borough seniors: Erin Harris, a student at St. Joseph Hill Academy High School, Jose Perez IV of Curtis High School, and Sharif Rafa, also of Curtis.
