The Illinois Treasurer’s Office has returned another missing Purple Heart. The latest medal has been returned to the family of Jerome Even of Park Ridge. He was awarded the Purple Heart in 1942 for his service during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Village of Niles Extends Vehicle Sticker Deadline to August 15
Due to construction at Village Hall and the Village’s recent cybersecurity incident, Mayor George D. Alpogianis and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Niles today announced a 45-day extension to the deadline for displaying 2024-2025 vehicle stickers. Instead of requiring stickers to be displayed by July 1, stickers must now be displayed by August 15. The Village of Niles appreciates the cooperation of the public and all those who have already purchased their sticker.

Clarke Mosquito will be performing a Village-wide spray for mosquitoes the evening of July 1st, weather permitting. Residents may call the Clarke Mosquito Hotline at 630-671-3100 and ask to be added to the "Prior Notification List" for the Village of Vernon Hills. Residents will be asked to provide their name, address, and phone number, and this will allow them to receive a phone call from Clarke the day of the Village-wide spray.
