Our Chicago: Tornadoes Touch Down Across The Chicago Area
The numbers are pretty remarkable: The National Weather Service confirmed, more than two dozen tornadoes touched down across the Chicago area last Sunday and Monday.Five of those were here in the city.The tornadoes brought down trees and damaged buildings. Power lines fell onto I-55, shutting down a portion of the expressway for more than two days. In Cedar Lake, Indiana, a woman was killed when a tree fell onto her home. GhanaFest brings authentic Ghanaian celebration to Washington Park
The Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago and its Affiliates, known as tribes, are ready for GhanaFest.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. 2 teens charged with robbing, beating up 14-year-old in Uptown, Chicago police say
Two teens were arrested after a teenager was beat up, robbed at gunpoint on the city's North Side. Chicago police said.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Boy, 7, hospitalized after being shot in head on Dan Ryan Expressway
CHICAGO (CBS) — A 7-year-old boy was hospitalized after he was shot on the Dan Ryan Expressway Sunday morning.Illinois State Police say a vehicle was traveling down I-94 near 73rd Street around 2:40 a.m. when someone in another car started shooting at them – striking the boy who was a passenger.The driver of the struck car exited the expressway and stopped near 22nd and Michigan to call for help. The boy was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.State police closed the expressway's northbound lanes just before 4 a.m. to investigate. All lanes reopened around 4:53 a.m.Investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. No further information was immediately available.
