    PREP SOFTBALL: South Beloit's bats stay hot in another slugfest win

    SOUTH BELOIT — The South Beloit SoBos won their second slugfest in as many days, following up a 15-14 victory over Ashton-Franklin on Monday with a 19-10 romp over Harvest Christian Academy on Tuesday.

    The host SoBos scored 11 runs in the first inning and banged out 15 hits to offset seven errors in the field. Macey Lineman picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle, going the first four innings and allowing seven hits and eight runs, but just two earned. She walked one and struck out seven. Whitney Schnack came on in relief and didn’t allow a hit over the final three innings, although she was charged with two unearned runs. She also fanned five to give the SoBo duo 12 punchouts for the day.

    Lineman was also the hottest hitter, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and five RBIs. Jasmine Fago was 3-for-4 with a triple, four runs scored and three RBIs. Zorah Martin was 2-for-4 with four runs scored, Annabelle Dascher was 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs.

    NORTH BOONE 15, BYRON 0: Camdyn Hall allowed just two baserunners over four innings and the Vikings smacked 12 hits in their four-inning rout of the visiting Tigers in Big Northern Conference action.

    Olivia Johnson smacked a two-run triple in a five-run first inning for North Boone (8-2, 2-0 BNC) and Cami Carter, Danielle Goodman and Marlee Alderman, who all finished with two hits, each smacked one-run doubles in the second as Byron (0-4, 0-1) fell into a 9-0 deficit.

    Sydney Goodman finished with three hits and two RBI while Danielle Goodman finished with three RBI.

    Hall went all four innings and allowed one hit and one walk with nine strikeouts.

    • WATERFORD 12, BELOIT MEMORIAL 6: A three-run homer from Allie Gustafson helped the Purple Knights trail just 5-4 in the second before the visiting Wolverines put up a pair of runs in three of the next five innings for a Southern Lakes Conference victory.

    Jasmine Smith added an RBI groundout and a three-run homer in the sixth as Beloit (1-3, 0-3) was outhit by Waterford (1-1, 1-0) 13-8 and committed four errors. Abigail Middleton had two hits while Gustafson finished with three.

    Rilynne Cleland allowed 12 hits and 12 runs (eight earned) with four walks in the complete game.

    • JOHNSON CREEK 11, PARKVIEW 0: A four-run third inning helped send the visiting Bluejays over the Vikings in Trailways-South Conference play.

    Natalie Abey had two of Parkview’s (1-3, 1-2) five hits, but six errors from the Vikings helped Johnson Creek (3-2, 3-1) score 11 runs (seven earned) on 11 hits off Kylie Stark. She walked four and struck out seven.

    Hailee Walk struck out 12 for the Bluejays, who held a 6-0 lead after three innings and a 9-0 advantage after five.
