    Camden Man Sentenced to 11 Years in Prison for Fatal Hit and Run in South Brunswick

    SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - A Camden man has been sentenced for a fatal hit-and-run in South Brunswick, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. Giovanni Gaines-Little, age 24, was sentenced to a total of 11 years in New Jersey State Prison and is subject to three years of parole upon release.

    On February 25, 2023, authorities responded to the intersection of Route 130 and Route 32 due to a motor vehicle crash. Police located Kerri Lynn Shea, age 43 of East Windsor, unconscious and entrapped in her car. Shea died from injuries sustained in the collision.

    The driver of the other involved motor vehicle fled the scene of the crash. Prosecutors and police determined that Giovanni Gaines-Little was driving the Mitsubishi Lancer that collided with Shea.

    According to prosecutors, Gaines-Little drove through a red light at high speed, causing the crash. He was driving without a license at the time. Authorities say he fled the scene on foot, leaving his passenger behind.

    Gaines-Little was arrested on January 29 and pleaded guilty on April 12, according to a press release. He was charged with Vehicular Homicide and Knowingly Leaving the Scene of Motor Vehicle Accident Resulting in Death.
