Sprint car race driver from central Pa. has died
Local sprint car driver Riley Emig of Abbottstown died Saturday according to several reports. Emig’s age was not immediately available and a cause of death was not revealed, although a report from The Capital Sports Report quoted unconfirmed social media reports that Emig was involved in a motorcycle accident. An article from Sowetan newspaper also suggested Emig’s possible involvement in an accident.
Local couple witnessed shooting at Trump rally, vow to continue support
Tom and Sherry Smith of Cambria County said they were both enjoying the Trump rally in Butler on Saturday. However, they said everything changed in just a few short minutes. “Trump started speaking, about 15 minutes into that I heard ‘pop pop pop.’ To the left of us was a wooded area, and my immediate reaction to that was, ‘Somebody’s playing a prank, there’s fireworks.’ But then my husband said, ‘That’s gunshots, get down.’ And then immediately everyone around us dropped to the ground,” Sherry said.

The next three days we will see high temperatures well up into the 90s and some places will probably break 100 degrees.
