HOUSTON MAN ARRESTED EARLY TUESDAY
A Houston man was arrested early Tuesday on drug charges. Brenham Police report that early Tuesday morning at 2:55, Officer Grayson Marburger observed a vehicle stalled in the lane of travel in the 2000 block of Highway 36 North. Contact was made with the driver, Jerry Restrepo, 20 of Houston. K-9 assistance was requested and Washington County Constable Rolling responded to the scene. The K-9 alerted on the vehicle at which time a probable cause search was conducted. Suspected narcotics were located inside the vehicle and Restrepo was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was transported to the jail and booked in without incident.

Texas crash leaves one dead, another seriously injured
PECOS, Texas — A head-on collision on FM 1053 near mile marker 384 resulted in one death and one serious injury Saturday morning. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the crash involved a 2015 Ford F-150 and a 2024 GMC Sierra. Donnavin Brown, a 21-year-old from Odessa, Texas, was driving the Ford F-150 southbound when his vehicle veered into the northbound lane. Nicholas Calloway, a 25-year-old from Houston, Texas, was driving the GMC Sierra and attempted to avoid the collision by moving into the southbound lane. However, Brown's vehicle returned to the southbound lane, striking Calloway's vehicle head-on. Calloway was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Braden. Brown sustained serious injuries and was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital.

2 babies abandoned in Houston area within hours, authorities seek parents
PASADENA, Texas - Two babies were found abandoned in the Houston area just a few hours apart. A 2-month-old baby was found by Pasadena Police Officers on Monday morning in a car seat sitting outside a dumpster in a strip center just behind several restaurants on Crenshaw Road near Beltway 8. Sadly, this makes three babies abandoned in the Houston area in just about a month.
