Kenley is the owner of The Pink Pearl Boutique, which has been in business since early February of this year. When asked what the best part about her job is, she said, “Getting to see all of my customers and helping them find the perfect outfit.” As a Gatesville native, Turner enjoys how our small community comes together during difficult times.
Protecting Gatesville’s founding fathers
Prior to Liz Reinhardt’s retirement from Gatesville City Hall, in addition to her other titles and duties, she had devoted her time updating the data concerning Gatesville City Cemetery and Restland Cemetery. Reinhardt was responsible for platting the cemeteries and had section markers installed at City Cemetery in order to make it easier to locate graves.

Resident brings awareness to bullying, suicide with local event
After Kara Yocom lost her 14-year-old son to suicide, it became her mission to bring awareness to bullying, mental health, and suicide. Yocom’s son, Isaac Bueno-Yocom, took his own life on Aug. 2, 2015, after experiencing bullying at school. Now, she uses his story to help other parents and the community recognize the signs of bullying and suicide.

Flag football & volleyball registration now open
The City of Gatesville’s Parks and Recreation department has announced that registration is now open for city league flag football and volleyball. Flag football will have games every Monday and Tuesday from Oct. 7 through Nov. 16. The age divisions include five years old and kindergarten, first and second grade, third and fourth grade, and fifth and sixth grade.
