    Marathon employee injured on Ohio River, taken to hospital

    SOUTH POINT, OH (WOWK) – A Marathon employee was taken to the hospital after being injured aboard a vessel in the Ohio River.

    According to Marathon Petroleum Corp., the incident happened on Tuesday. They say an employee was “injured on a marine vessel” near South Point, Ohio. The company did not give details on the incident but said the employee was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

    “Our thoughts are with our injured co-worker and his family, and we have been in contact with them to offer support,” Marathon released in a statement. “We are thankful to our crew and the community first responders for their remarkable and quick actions to render aid.”
