    7 new restaurants in the Mid-South to enjoy this summer

    Ember and Oak Prime

    E&O is a new locally owned and operated restaurant in Southaven, Mississippi. They are well known for their “finest cuts of meat”. Along with their prime cuts, they offer appetizers, soup, salads, seafood, shareable sides for two or more people, and desserts. Brunch starters and bar entrees are also an option on their menu. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are available online. The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. On Sundays, they open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and reopen from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. They are closed on Mondays.

    Ash’s Irish Pub

    Ash’s Irish Pub is an Irish restaurant and whiskey bar located in Olive Branch, Mississippi. The Irish cuisine includes bangers and mash, shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, and poutine. Their restaurant opens on Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 a.m., and Sunday from 12 a.m. until 7 p.m. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

    Nashoba

    Nashoba is said to be the newest premium gathering spot at Carriage Crossing in Collierville. The restaurant combines live music with a sports bar. They offer a lunch, dinner, drink, and late-night food menu. Their happy hour is from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Patio seating is also available. During the week, the restaurant usually has live musical performances. On their website, you can reserve space for private events and submit band bookings to perform. They are open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays, they are open from 11 a.m. until midnight.

    4600 Merchants Park Circle

    JEM

    This “fine dining made approachable” restaurant is located in the edge district on Madison Avenue. JEM’s menu offers dinner and dessert options with shareable plates. Reservations are available as well as walk-ins and patio seating. They are open Wednesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, they open at 4:30 and close at 9 p.m.

    Rock’n Dough Pizza & Brewery

    Rock’n Dough on Madison Avenue is the newest location in Memphis. They have eight locations in Tennessee with four of them in Memphis. Rock’n Dough’s menu offers artisan pizza, salads, grinders, pasta, burgers, and house-brewed beers. Orders can also be placed online. The new location features bowling lanes, a full-size bar, and patio seating. They are open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, they are open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.

    704 Madison Avenue

    Zio Matto Gelato

    Zio Matto Gelato serves authentic Italian gelato inside the Central Station Hotel. They have a total of 17 scooping locations in Memphis. Their menu consists of a variety of gelato flavors, sandwiches, and cakes. They also have event bookings available on their website. They are open Monday through Thursday from noon until 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon until 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.

    Mary’s Bar of Tropical Escapism

    This tiki bar is located in Midtown on Cooper Street. They have the same bartenders that developed the theme at Cameo on Union Avenue. Alongside the drinks, their menu offers pizza, egg rolls, and bodega snacks. They are open Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. until 12 a.m. On Friday and Saturday, they are open from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m.
