Looking to play the best golf courses in Massachusetts? Welcome to our annual Golfweek’s Best ranking of public-access and private courses. Following are the rankings for both types of courses, as judged by our nationwide network of raters. The hundreds of members of our course-ratings panel continually evaluate courses and rate them on 10 criteria on a points basis of 1 through 10. They also file a single, overall rating on each course. Those overall ratings are averaged to produce all our Golfweek’s Best course rankings.

• Needham’s Legion Baseball Team opened the District Playoffs with two wins at home. In the District 6 Legion Baseball 2024 regular season, Needham’s Post 14 went a perfect 16-0, giving them the top seed and a bye in the District Playoffs. That also guaranteed two home games at Memorial Park during the Carnival weekend, both which Needham won in walk-off fashion on two beautiful summer nights.
WooBall Weekly: Bravehearts walk off into All-Star break
The Worcester Bravehearts began their week with a Tuesday game at Fitton Field against the Vermont Lake Monsters, and despite a mid-innings comeback to tie the score they couldn’t get over completely over the hump and drop a 5-3 contest. Down 3-0 in the bottom of the seventh WooBall tied it on a Shea Grady RBI single and then a two-run single from Max DAlessandro. Vermont would go on to score runs in the eighth and ninth for the win.
