Major Pacific Storm Update - Category Five Atmospheric River Southern California

Discussion: I am seeing a lot of comments from the OC, IE, High Desert areas ... Santa Barbara is getting whacked at the current time and over 10,000 have lost power ... As I said, it will start there and move east with TIME. Personally, I don't want what SBA/SLO/VT/and LA's southern foothills are getting or going to get from this event.

Even the Cajon Pass will see 10-12" of rain from this single event.

The rain will be heavier in the IE THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT ... Maximizing Tomorrow (Monday) ...

This graphic clearly shows what this is. This low-pressure system to the west is drawing tropical moisture from even below the Hawaiian latitude. That ultimately shows the extent of the atmospheric river.

So, if you don't have rain now ... you definitely will be overnight and Monday, with San Diego being the last to see this shift. Again, you had your warning two weeks ago from me ...

This is a CATEGORY FIVE OUT OF SIX STORM ... A Six will need tornadoes and thunderstorms along the front. Due to the fact this is tropical in nature, I feel along the front would be tough for this to happen ... Still, a category five out of six is enough to be life-threatening ...
