Deputies accuse two men of multiple thefts in northeast Nebraska
MADISON COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) - The Madison County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men on July 19 on suspicion of multiple thefts. On May 31, a man reported a generator stolen from his business in Newman Grove. According to the sheriff’s office, the generator was recovered after another man traded his plasma cutter to 25-year-old Alexander Robak for the generator. It was later discovered that the generator had been stolen, and the second man returned the generator to its owner.
Fremont resident arrested for domestic assault
Fremont police were dispatched at about 8 p.m. Wednesday to the 2700 block of Skylark Street for a domestic disturbance. After completing an investigation, Dana Lorsch, 53, of Fremont was arrested and jailed for third-degree domestic assault.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was injured on Friday afternoon in a tractor crash just east of Lincoln. Bennet Fire & Rescue responded just after 1 p.m. to an area near 190th Street and Yankee Hill Road, northeast of Bennet, on reports of an injury accident involving a tractor.
Teens charged after twice burglarizing home in northeast Lincoln, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Three Lincoln teens are facing charges after a home was burglarized twice in a few months. Prosecutors have charged 18-year-old Andrew Minzel with burglary and possession of a stolen firearm, and he was arrested on Wednesday. Two other 17-year-old boys have also been charged in the case. They face an assortment of theft, burglary and weapons charges.
Alleged SD pedophile takes his own life when faced with arrest
CANOVA, SD (KELO.com) — The New York Post is reporting a disturbing story from South Dakota of an alleged pedophile killing himself earlier this week when confronted by a predator hunter. 60-year old Donald Letcher reportedly gave graphic detail of disturbing videos featuring children – including infants – to Predator Poachers Founder Alex Rosen. Rosen’s crew recorded enough to use as evidence and called in police, and persuaded Letcher to admit his crime to an officer. Letcher then walked inside his home and took his own life with a gun. Letcher was convicted of molesting a 9 year old girl in 1996, but that conviction was overturned.

LINCOLN — Nebraska renters would get some financial relief in the form of an income tax credit under a pair of proposals to be considered by the Legislature. State Sens. Terrell McKinney of North Omaha and Eliot Bostar of Lincoln each introduced a bill Thursday seeking to compensate renters who otherwise would not automatically reap any direct benefit from property tax reforms being pushed by Gov. Jim Pillen.
Rhule explains decision to hire John Butler as defensive backs coach
One of the off-season surprises for Nebraska football was the sudden resignation of defensive backs coach Evan Cooper. At the time of his departure, Cooper was entering his second year as the Huskers’ defensive backs coach. The school has said that Cooper resigned for personal reasons. Head coach Matt Rhule quickly hired John Butler as the new defensive back coach. Butler joins the Cornhuskers after holding the same position with the Buffalo Bills since 2022.
