1st Community Credit Union warns customers of text message scam

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) -- A Sparta-based credit union wants the public to know about a text message scam targeting their customers.

In a Facebook post Monday, 1st Community Credit Union says customers have reported receiving suspicious text messages.

In the example shared, the text appears to be a notification from the bank of a charge being made at a specific place and time. It goes on to encourage users to visit a provided link if the customer does not think they made the charge.

1st CCU urges anyone who receives these texts to ignore and delete the messages. Do not click the link.
