An Upstate nightclub could be ruled a nuisance to its community following an investigation. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office and SLED launched an investigation into Club Glow on Union Street in Spartanburg. Deputies have been dispatched there more than 75 times in the past 12 months.

Personnel from both agencies went there early Friday morning to speak with the owner. Upon arrival, the staff locked them out and refused entry. After several minutes deputies and agents were allowed inside. It was determined that the club was illicitly operating a sexually oriented business, allowing women to strip there.

The establishment does not have a permit for a strip club and did not have requests for one on file, as of Friday. Also, the club violates an ordinance by being to close to a church to operate a sexually oriented business.

Multiple citations and warrants were issued for violations of ABC laws and refusing inspection or searches.

The Sheriff's Office says it is forwarding its findings to county leadership so they can determine if the club is a nuisance business given all of its violations of local and state ordinances.
