SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA)- A full list of school supplies can be expensive. The United Way of the Piedmont is making it possible for families to afford school supplies and not sacrifice paying their bills through a school supply drive this Summer.

VP for Brand Experience Amanda Richardson with the United Way of the Piedmont said as technology continues to grow, purchasing a full list of school supplies can cost families more than one hundred dollars per child.

To help with the cost United Way of the Piedmont asks businesses and individuals to help every year by giving school supplies to students in need across our community through “Stuff the Bus.”

Shop for the needed supplies at your favorite store and then drop off your donations between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the SCC Downtown Campus at 220 East Kennedy Street on July 23 & 24.

Some needed items include backpacks, pencils, glue sticks, notebooks, rulers and crayons.

Other community drop-off days are Saturday July 20 at the YMCA of Greater Spartanburg from 9:30-12:30 and another on July 20 at Fretwell Market from 10-2. There will be games and activities for kids, food and more.
