One of the most popular summer events in Maple City, the annual Irish Festival sponsored by the Ancient Order of Hibernians Hornell chapter , is on tap for Saturday from 1 to 11 p.m. in the St. Ann's Church parking lot.

Among the Irish Festival's features are food trucks, children’s games, face painting, vendors, music and dancing.

Count on Irish souvenirs, raffle tickets and traditional Reuben sandwiches at the 18th year of the festival.

The cost is $3 per person and kids under 12 are admitted free.

Who will take first-place prizes in Irish Festival Parade?

The Irish Festival gets started Saturday with a parade through the downtown area of Hornell to the festival event site.

Parade lineup is at 1 p.m. at Seneca and Genesee streets. The parade begins at 1:30 and goes up Seneca to Main Street, turns left onto Center Street, right to Elm Street, left onto Elm and then left to the festival gate.

First-place parade prizes will be handed out for first responders, military and in open divisions.

This is the second year of having a festival parade.
