Echo Canyon Trail is now open at McCormick’s Creek State Park
SPENCER – Echo Canyon Trail, an addition to McCormick’s Creek State Park’s trail system, is now open. The new trail, adjacent to the park’s Centennial Shelter, is a short loop with a natural, firm, and stable surface and gradual slopes. It allows guests with limited mobility to enjoy views of Echo Canyon.

New Book With Former Salem Resident Tanya Coats Konerman
I recently had the opportunity to interview an author from Salem. Her name is Tanya Coats Konerman, and she graduated from Salem High School in 1985. Konerman lived in Salem until she went to college at Indiana University and stayed there. She has a double major in Journalism and Psychology, with a focus on childhood development. Her home now is in Bloomington where she lives with her husband, who is an electrical engineer for Crane Naval Base. The couple have three daughters.

Immersive Musical Garden of The Center for Courageous Kids Celebrates Opening
In January of this year, the Center for Courageous Kids (CCK) announced that they were adding an immersive musical experience to everything else they offer campers facing unique circumstances. This was going to include rhythm instruments that, when struck, would create various tones and sounds. The instruments are themselves designed in such a way that there is no barrier, regardless of the situation a camper is in.
