I don’t think many of us knew what to expect walking in to see “Riverside.”. With the sun still high in the sky and only a slight breeze to relieve the 82-degree heat, a good-sized crowd filled the lawn at the Taggart Memorial Amphitheatre. Ivy Tech Bloomington has new free training programs, information session Tuesday
BLOOMINGTON – Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington is offering new, free training programs paid for by the state’s Next Level Jobs (NLJ) Workforce Ready Grant. The grant covers the cost of tuition for students who qualify, and training leads to jobs in high-demand industries in Indiana. Anyone interested can attend an information session on Tuesday, July 30, at 6 p.m. in room C125 on the main campus.

Indiana man arrested after leading police on chase that ended in fiery crash
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Indiana man who led police on a short chase that ended in a fiery crash Wednesday afternoon was arrested. The incident started Wednesday afternoon. According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Carey Huls, a state trooper saw a man driving a white Chevy Blazer with expired tags make an unsafe lane change.

Man sentenced for threatening Jewish lives in 2022. 67 year-old Andrezj Boryga of Indianapolis, has been sentenced to two years in federal prison, followed by two years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to willfully transmitting in interstate commerce threats to injure other people, and for choosing his victims because of their religion. In 2022, Boryga left voicemails at Anti-Defamation League offices throughout the country, threatening to assault or kill Jewish people.
Traffic stop leads to three men arrested on dealing charges
ANDERSON—On Thursday, July 25, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Trooper Matt Dickerson was patrolling the City of Anderson near 38th Street and Columbus Avenue when he stopped a passenger vehicle for an equipment violation and speeding. Trooper Dickerson spoke to the car’s driver, who identified himself as Ki’Shawn Demond Anderson, 22, of Anderson. During the interaction, Trooper Dickerson recognized indicators of criminal activity and requested the assistance of the Anderson Police Department.

MUNCIE, IN—Muncie Downtown Development Partnership (MDDP), an organization connecting our community and creating a vibrant downtown, announced today initial plans for its third “Fire Up DWNTWN,” a street festival that has drawn over 10,000 people to the heart of the city in each of its last two celebrations. Sewer line break repairs cost Lawrence $125K
A sewer line break of off Pendleton Pike will cost the City of Lawrence about $125,000. The Utility Service Board voted unanimously July 23 to ratify a contract with Culy Contracting, which fixed the sewer line earlier in the month. The board agreed July 9 to declare a public emergency and allow the city to move quickly to hire Culy for the repair work, before the contract was formally approved.
