SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - One person is dead and two are hospitalized after being pulled from the Spokane River Saturday evening, according to Spokane County Sheriff's Office.

Crews from several fire agencies and AMR were called to the Coyote Rock area of the Spokane River around 6 p.m. on July 13. That's right near Plante's Ferry Sports Complex.

The 911 call said a person was unconscious on a rock in the middle of the river and someone was performing CPR.

Crews found four people, three of whom had been taken to shore by paddle boards. The fourth person who had been unconscious on the rock was taken to shore by the SVFD Swift Water Team boat.

SCSO said on Sunday that three of the four people were taken to the hospital after the rescue and one was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

As of Sunday evening, no information about the condition of the two remaining hospital patients has been provided.

Spokane Valley Fire reminds people that the water is still extremely cold and there are potential dangers below the surface that can't always be seen.
