SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A man was arrested on July 26 for assault and attempting to break into an apartment, according to the Spokane Valley Police Department (SVPD).

Around 5:45 p.m., SVPD responded to a man assaulting people and trying to kick in an apartment door near Parkside at Mirabeau.

When they arrived, officers identified the suspect as 20-year-old Garret S. Meyers-Morse.

SVPD said they also spoke to an adult male victim who intervened when Meyers-Morse began assaulting a female victim. Meyers-Morse punched the male victim several times before fleeing the area.

According to SVPD, Meyers-Morse returned, assaulted additional people, and damaged a car with a large knife before fleeing again.

Meyers-Morse was eventually taken into custody an hour later after returning to the area again.

SVPD transported Meyers-Morse to the Spokane County Jail.

According to SVPD, a large knife was recovered at the scene.

Charges for Meyers-Morse include two counts of first-degree burglary, six counts of malicious mischief, and three counts of fourth-degree assault.
