    Former Zags hold basketball camp

Spokane, Wash. -- A trio of former Gonzaga basketball stars are helping the next generation of athletes in Spokane.

Cory Violette. Robert Sacre and Abdullahi Kuso held a Big Man Basketball Camp at Emmanuel Fitness.

High School players received footwork and fundamental tips from the Zags.

All proceeds went towards Emmanuel Fitness as part of Operation Healthy Family (OHF) which provides kids from low-income families opportunities through training and sports.

"I saw a lot of kids who couldn't afford the training that's in this community. So OHF wanted to create a program that kids can come to, be safe and then also have the top equipment," Tommy Williams of Emmanuel Fitness and OHF said.

The camp raised nearly $1,500 for the training facility.

"The goal is to make sure basketball is not out of reach for somebody who can't afford it," Violette said. "So some of the kids here are on scholarship and some of them paid full price to come. But once we're all in the gym together none of that matters. We're all just here to get better."

Another camp is scheduled for October.
