Minong Summer Days this weekend

MINONG — Gather for “old-time fun” on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 9-10, at Minong Summer Days.

Both days, Calvary Lutheran Church will be having a Back 2 School Clothing Sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Summer Days event tent and food trucks open at 5 p.m. Friday. Bingo under the tent begins at 6 p.m., with proceeds going toward Jack Link’s Aquatic & Activity Center. Live music by Rafe Carlson and the Band will be in the tent from 8 to 11 p.m.

Saturday, the Minong Area Senior Center will be having a Rummage Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event tent opens at 10 a.m. The Car & Bike Show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Arts and craft vendors open at 10 a.m., followed by the food trucks at 11 a.m. The parade begins at noon on Railroad Street.

The Kids Fun Zone will be from 1 to 4 p.m. in the park play area, with a petting zoo, bouncy house, games and fire house with the Minong Fire Department.

At 1 p.m., Ericson Logging will have a free food stand (while supplies last) in the Fun Zone. New Hope Church will host the Ice Cream Social at that time, and Smokey the Bear will have an open house at the DNR Ranger Station. The Magic Bus Band will also perform at 1 p.m. in the event tent.

At 4 p.m., James Shafstall will provide acoustic music under the tent, followed by the 2nd Time Around Band from 6 to 10 p.m.

Most events take place at the corner of Railroad Street and Richards Avenue.
