    Spooner council approves license for NW Station

    SPOONER — The Spooner City Council approved a Class B combination liquor license for The NW Station, formerly Jerseys in the Civic Center, at their Tuesday, June 4 meeting.

    Jerseys, the restaurant located in the Spooner Civic Center, closed a few months ago. Now, with the Northwest Express hockey team coming to play at the center from Minnesota for the Midwest West division, team owner Joe Dibble will be running The NW Station. The license begins July 1.

    In other action Tuesday night, the council:

    Proclaimed Friday, June 21, as Make Music Day.Approved a cigarette, tobacco and electronic vaping license beginning July 1 to Ignite Dispensary Distribution.Appointed Monika Biernier to the Business Improvement District to replace Jim Tourville from June 5 through April 21, 2006.Approved a lead service line replacement access agreement for the Ash Street project.Granted a temporary street closure for the Rodeo Parade on July 13.Approved a temporary Class B picnic license for the Spooner Area Chamber of Commerce for Jack Pine Savage Days Aug. 1-3.Heard a reminder from Mayor Gary Cuskey to watch out for children now that school is out.
